Doug Uffen with Reflection Peak has received several accolades for his technical contributions and public speaking. He won two Best Geophysical Paper Awards from the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG) in 1994 and 1995. He has received recognition for an outstanding contribution to the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) for an oral paper in 1995 and received an Honourable Mention for the Best Paper Award from the SEG in 1997. He has spoken as an invited guest panellist for a CSEG Amplitude Versus Offset (AVO) workshop and a Reservoir Characterization workshop.
In a previous corporate affiliation, Doug created and taught two in-house courses on the fundamentals of geophysics for technologists, geologists and land personnel. As a former chief geophysicist for a major oil and gas company, Doug tutored and mentored staff on an individual basis offering his technical expertise to solve practical exploration problems.
